Mario Espinoza Lobato

Mario Espinoza Lobato went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 19th.

Mario Lobato was born in Navolato, Sinaloa in 1949.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Edith Yepez de Espinoza; daughter Edith Treviño and son-in-law Jesse Treviño; son Mario Espinoza and daughter-in-law Lluvia Espinoza. He is also survived by the loves of his life who were and still are: Alexia, Paola, Jesse Alan, Mario, Mario Lobato and his little David. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters from Sinaloa; his many, many friends and people who were touched by his kindness. His legacy will live on through the people he touched and through his family.

Our precious papi was 58-years-old. He was born in Sinaloa, Mexico and at the age of ten he moved out of his house and left out-of-state in Mexico to work and help feed his mother and ten brothers and sisters after his father’s death. Our dad never had a childhood, for when other kids were out playing he was far away working at a ranch, learning the value of work.

It is for this reason that I believe our father loved children and did all that he could to ensure that children had dreams and hopes for tomorrow. He could sit for hours at a time playing cars with our kids, or inviting all of the neighborhood children to McDonald’s. His passion for children extended to the tremendous amounts of donations to Acuña schools through donating buildings, houses for families of cardboard box homes, construction, bridges, clothes and the list goes on and on. Our dad believed that you should always help the less fortunate, but at the same time, help by allowing the less fortunate to educate themselves and become self-sufficient.

Dad was saved about three years ago and he lived by God’s principles since we can remember. His positive and optimistic attitude in any situation was always contagious. He never accepted defeat. Our dad was courageous and taught us to never be afraid. When faced with a major problems we would ask him, “Dad, what are we to do?” And he would respond, “Think, use what God gave you, use your head. Everything in life has a solution, except death.”

He also believed that anything was possible if you set your mind to it. We believe that through his principles and hard work, he was able to become the success that he was in every sense of the word.

Our dad always had a smile on his face, a joke to share with all people he met. He dedicated a large part of his life to helping others, but his more beautiful feature was his humble spirit.

We consider our dad to be a hero, who fought against the corruption of his native country. He fought for equality and justice, and he said he would die by his convictions.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 23, from 10 a.m. to noon.

There will be no funeral services. He will be cremated.
