Raul Garcia Garza
Raul Garcia Garza, age 74, entered into rest July 30, 2010, in Del Rio, Texas. He was born August 17, 1935, in La Rosita, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Garza and Luisa Garcia de Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Olga Abrego Garza and their children Roberto A. Sotelo, Jr., Reynaldo A. de los Santos, Jr., and by his devoted daughter Carissa Zavala and husband Jesus. He is also survived by his in-laws, Juan R. Abrego, Jr. and wife Guadalupe, owners of Abrego’s State Inspection in Del Rio.
His children from his previous marriage to Mrs. Carmela Guerra Garza: Roberto Jo Garza from La Rosita, TX, Cindy Garza, and Melissa Garza from McAllen, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren.
Sisters, Rebecca and husband Florentino Moreno of McAllen, TX, Eva Bertha Canales of McAllen, TX, Raquel and husband Jesustino Alvarez of Pharr, TX, and Hermila and husband Esteban Zavala of San Antonio, TX; brothers, Francisco Garza and wife Josefina of Corpus Christi, TX, and Rolando Garza and wife Minerva of Rio Grande City, TX.
Raul was drafted into the military at age 18 and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Raul’s wishes were to be a tissue donor and be cremated.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, July 31, 2010, at 5:00PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
