• The San Felipe Exes will hold their annual meeting today at 7:30 p.m. at the Exes hall on Mendez St. Guest speaker, Oscar M. Cardenas, Class of 1959. All ex-students are invited to attend and enjoy a fun and memorable evening.

• First Friday ArtWalk at the Firehouse this month features the art of Abigail Torrescano. The opening reception begins at 7 p.m.

• The Firehouse Fantastics season opener takes today at the Paul Poag Theatre with the Aquila Theatre’s presentation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It. Doors open at 7 p.m. Call the Firehouse at 775-0888 for more information.

• Heart of Del Rio First Friday Art Walk presents an art exhibit by Raul Reyes today at the Casa de la Cultura from 7-9 p.m. Live music by the San Felipe Creek Band. For more information call 768-2287.

• Krispy Kreme Doughnuts fundraiser Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. at the Blockbuster Video’s parking lot. Proceeds for a Christian concert. Please support our ministry.

• Miss Val Verde’s Annual Princess in Boas Tea Party. Little girls ages 4 - 9 are invited to attend from 2 - 3:30 pm at Plaza del Sol Mall Nov. 7. You must RSVP and you must bring your favorite boa and gloves. This event is free of charge for children only and the goal is to have each girl feel, look and act like a princess for the special tea party. • Garfield Elementary students and staff cordially invite you to join us in honoring and paying tribute to all military veterans during our Veterans Day Program on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. in front of Garfield Elementary.

• Southwest Texas Junior College Student Government Association presents C.J. Johnson/comedy hypnotist, Nov. 9, at Gorzugi’s Pub. Doors open at 7 p.m. Must be 21 and over; pre-sale tickets available at SWTJC and Gorzugi’s.

• Marine Corps Day: A few good men will be gathering at the Ramada Inn Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the 233rd birthday of our Marine Corp. (dinner at you own).

• MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) will meet Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at Sunblossom Room of Ramada. Free and open to the public. We discuss the UFO phenomenon and related topics. Bring a friend and your curiosity.

• Garfield Elementary invites all parents to its monthly PTO meeting Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. A program honoring our Veterans will be presented by the 3rd. grade cluster. Please make it a date to attend.

• Operation Patriotic Angels - Adopt A Soldier. What would you do to honor our troops? Queens for a Cause will be conducting a blanket and personal hygiene essentials drive this month ending on Dec 1. If you would like to donate, drop off your donations Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. during the Plaza del Sol Mall Salute To All Veterans program.

• All veterans and military families are invited to a special Salute to all Veterans special program hosted by Plaza del Sol Fashion Board, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. at Plaza del Sol Mall.

• Texas State Teacher Association (TSTA) general meeting at Mr. Gattis on Nov. 11 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

• The Del Rio Study Club will meet Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. at The Bank & Trust on Veterans Blvd. Our special guest will be Lisa Cadena-Craig.
