UPDATE: Pecos River Bridge closing

TxDOT MEDIA ADVISORY for August 4, 2009
WHAT: 15 minute delay at US 90 Pecos River Bridge
WHO: SCR Construction crews conducting work
WHEN: RESCHEDULED TO THURS., AUG. 6 AT 2 A.M.
WHERE: 45 miles northwest of Del Rio before Langtry on US 90 in Val Verde County
WHY: To pour concrete on the first span of the west bound lane of the Pecos River Bridge
TRAFFIC IMPACT: One-way traffic control is in place, but due to the pour, traffic will be delayed longer than usual, up to 15 minutes. Be prepared to stop and expect delays.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: One-way traffic pattern with a traffic signal is in effect on a regular basis for local and thru traffic, night and day, with special accommodations for emergency response vehicles. Regular delays are 5-10 minutes. Passenger vehicle and commercial tractor-trailer traffic will not be detoured with the exception of wide loads. Wide loads are restricted to 10 feet maximum. Wide load traffic will be detoured (east to west, and vice versa) from west of Del Rio on US 90 to US 277 to Sonora/Sutton County to IH-10 to Sheffield/Pecos County to FM 349 to Dryden/Terrell County for continued travel on US 90 westbound. Traffic may opt to continue on IH 10 from Sheffield westward.
The traveling public should slow down, drive with extreme caution, and observe all safety signs, traffic control devices and flaggers in the work zone area.
