A job where everyday is different is the kind 26-year-old Homer Fernandez is grateful for having every day.

Owner and operator of Off-Road Recovery, Fernandez started his business two years ago at only 24-years-old, and all it took was some money saving and a passion to help people in everyday situations.

Off-Road Recovery is what Fernandez considers the best source for any problem regarding your vehicle.

“We do everything from towing any size vehicle to taking gas to you if you run out,” said Fernandez. “We work a lot with tires, from small tires on a lawnmower to earthmovers.”

Fernandez’s passion for tires and automotive work began at the age of 15, when he worked for Rent-A-Tire.

“I have worked with tires for a long time and have gained my 15 years of experience through hard work and dedication,” said Fernandez. “After saving up some money, I decided to start this business.”

Fernandez said that one of the things he enjoys the most is that he never gets the same call twice.

“Everyday is something different,” he said, while adding that the most common jobs he performs are lock-outs and fueling.

“You’d be surprised how many people run out of gas and lock their keys in the car,” said Fernandez.

Every day, Fernandez loads up his service truck onto his tow truck and goes to work.

“We are available at all times of the day, any day of the week, raining or snowing,” Fernandez said.

Off-Road Recovery also offers professional installing of lift kits, big rims, window tint and car stereos.

Aside from his well-equipped service truck, Off- Road Recovery also relies on its heavy-duty tow truck and forceful four-wheeler.

The big tow-truck carrying the bright blue service truck has become a familiar source on the streets of Del Rio.

Fernandez recalls one situation where Off-Road Recovery was called to the rescue.

“Several months back, two golf carts were stolen at the San Felipe Country Club, well sure enough, our four-wheeler was able to pull the carts out of the creek at Moore Park where er found them,” said Fernandez. “Just today we were called out to the scene of an accident in Comstock where a wrecked vehicle lost all four tires and needed towing.”

According to Fernandez, whatever the job may be, they can do it, and do it right the first time.

“I’m thankful to all my customers, because through them I have been able to do this business,” he added. “I would like this business to be that source anyone can count on when you run into a problem with your vehicle.”

From a simple carwash to a total vehicle re-building, Fernandez said he takes pride in all the work he does.

“In the near future, I hope to open up my shop and continue to help people on a daily basis,” said Fernandez, adding that he couldn’t do the job he does without the help of his family and friends.
