Gregorio R. Garcia, Sr.
Gregorio R. Garcia, Sr, age 88, entered into rest on December 24, 2009, in Castroville, Texas. He was born September 26, 1921 in Zaragoza, Mexico. Preceded in death by his parents Juan Z. Garcia and Eulalia Barrera Garcia and Sister Jovita Hernandez. Mr. Garcia , a former California sheep shearing champion. His sons are eternally grateful for his utmost dedication to them and his struggle to support and educate them.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years: Francisca B. Garcia. Sons: Mario A. Garcia and wife Rosalinda Garcia and Gregorio Garcia, Jr and wife Maria Antonia Garcia both of Castroville, Tx. Brother: Daniel Garcia and Sister Juanita Neuman. Grandchildren: Loraine Lovato, Andrew Garcia, Mark Garcia, Xochitle Garcia, Rebecca Garcia. Great-Grandchildren: Cynthia Lovato, Hayden Alexander Lolvato. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Gentlemen with the honors of pallbearers: Guadalupe DeHoyos, Manuel Menchaca, Manuel Vara, Homer Martinez, Filemon Ortiz, Emilio Ortiz.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 28, 2009, 5:00pm-9:00pm, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Recitation of the Holy Rosary 7:30p.m.
Chapel Service will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at 11:00am, at Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
