Irene Rios Tafoya
Irene Rios Tafoya, age 77, entered into rest July 7, 2009, in Del Rio, Texas. She was born March 12, 1932, in Rowena, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan B. Tafoya, parents Magdaleno and Maria Chavez Rios. She was a loving mother to all her children. She was employed by the City of Del Rio Housing Authority for 35 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupana and Espiritu Choir.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rosemary Bocanegra and husband Arnold Bocanegra, Johnny Tafoya and common law wife Belia Duenes, Martha Tafoya, Amalia Chavez and husband Ricky Chavez. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Gentlemen with the honor of Pallbearers: John Marquez, Arnold Bocanegra, Guillermo Medrano, Ricky Chavez, Jose Sosa, Le Roy Tafoya.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009, from 3:00PM-9:00PM, Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, Chapel of Remembrance. Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 10:00AM, St. Joseph Catholic Church
Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
