Rubye Dunlap
CALIFORNIA – Rubye L. Dunlap, age 63, passed away suddenly at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana. Rubye was born on September 7, 1946 in Newport, Arkansas to Jesse and Agnes Dunlap. She was a current resident of Romoland, CA for 7 years.
She had previously resided in Del Rio, TX; Detroit, MI; Oceanside, CA; and Hemet, CA.
Rubye was employed by the City of Del Rio Animal Control and the Val Verde Memorial Hospital in Del Rio, TX. She was also an administrative secretary in the field of politics/government for 25 years.
Rubye graduated from Del Rio High School and obtained her associate's degree from Wayne County Community College in Detroit, MI. She was involved in many Democratic political organizations, was an advisor for the black community, and was a precinct delegate.
Rubye was preceeded in death by her parents, Jessie Martin Dunlap Sr. and Agnes Faye McBride; sister, Delores Jean Hardy and grandmother, Josephine McBride.
She is survived by her son, Felton L. Dunlap of Romoland, CA; brother, Maurice Goodlow of Fort Clark Springs-Bracketville, TX; two sisters, Jessica Ann Thompson of Loneville, TX and Sylvia Rita Byrd of Detroit, MI.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Felton L. Dunlap, P.O. Box 1188, Romoland, CA 92585.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 12:00 PM at CalvaryChapel Temecula Valley, 27462 Enterprise Circle W., Temecula, CA 92590.
