Tigerettes volleyball win area

Brackett’s Tigerettes volleyball team is area champion.
Saturday the Tigerettes defeated Tilden in three straight games to claim the area championship and advance to the regional qualifier match against Leakey. The match will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Southwest Texas Junior College gym in Uvalde.
Brackett took game one 25-16, won game two 25-17 and held on to win game three 25-19.
The win bumps Brackett’s overall record to 22-17 on the season.
Julie Castillo registered a double-double, notching 12 assists and 12 digs. She also had nine kills, five aces and one block to round out her match.
Daphne Hunt also had a strong match. She had 15 digs, six kills, one ace and one block.
Also contributing to the win were Natalie Aguirre (28 digs), Bailee Allen (8 kills, 6 digs, 1 assist, 1 block), Bianca Terrazas (9 assists, 6 digs, 1 ace), Bianca Stewart (5 kills, 3 blocks, 1 assist, 1 ace, 1 dig), Becca Mann (5 blocks, 2 kills, 1 dig), Summer Allen (3 digs, 1 assist, 1 ace), Nena Molinar (2 digs) and Bianca Martinez (1 ace).
