A child’s love can be a powerful thing, and it’s the love of the men in Lonnie Randolph Green’s family that has brought him back from the darkest days of his life into the sunshine of hope and a better tomorrow.

To know the man who grew up with the nickname “Big Daddy” is to know a man whose heart matched his tremendous frame. The son of Doris D. and Lonnie Green, for whom Dr. Lonnie Green Elementary School is named for, Lonnie Randolph Green was destined to make his own mark on the world, starting with a change in what was a family tradition of naming the men in his family.
