Del Rio’s non-district baseball schedule is set to wrap up this weekend.

The Rams will travel to the valley for the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Rodriguez tournament, which begins Thursday.

Del Rio will compete in the Black Division, which also includes Brownsville Veterans, San Benito, Alice, PSJA North, Weslaco, Los Fresnos, Corpus Christi Ray, PSJA High and Corpus Christi Moody.

The Silver Division features Weslaco East, Harlingen, PSJA Southwest, Palmview, Bishop, Progreso, Porter, Rivera, PSJA Memorial and Grulla.

The Rams will open their tournament Thursday with an 9 a.m. game against PSJA High at High’s home field. They will then face Corpus Christi Ray at 4:30 p.m. at PSJA High.

Friday the Rams return to the field at PSJA North and will face Brownsville Veterans at 11:30 a.m. Del Rio will then take on Corpus Christi Moody at 2 p.m. at the PSJA North field.

The Rams’ fifth game will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the PSJA High field against Los Fresnos.

The Rams are coming off an appearance at the Mira’s Sports & More Tournament in Corpus Christi.

Del Rio dropped its first game against Los Fresnos, 7-3, and then fell to Bishop, 10-2.

In game three, the Rams were defeated by Veterans Memorial, 4-2, but game four was a win for the boys in blue as they beat El Paso Hanks, 7-0.

The final game of the tournament for Del Rio was canceled after a lengthy rain delay, sending the Rams home with a 1-3 mark.

The junior varsity Rams found success at home.

The Junior varsity White squad swept a double header against Uvalde, winning 7-1 and 5-0 in a pair of games at The Bank & Trust Ram Field.

Back at The Bank & Trust Ram Field, J.V. White defeated Eagle Pass C.C. Winn on Friday, 3-2, on a walk-off double by JR Meza.

J.V. Blue dropped a tough one to Winn that same day, 15-6.

The junior varsity teams were scheduled to return to action Tuesday night at Eagle Pass against C.C. Winn. J.V White fell to C.C. Winn, 6-1.

The J.V. teams will then host Ft. Stockton J.V. and freshmen on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. at The Bank & Trust Ram Field.

The next home game for the varsity team will be Friday, March 12, when the Rams open district play against the Laredo United Longhorns at 7 p.m.
