Bill Bouldin

Bill Bouldin, a Virginian by birth and a Son of Texas by nature, is a former Air Force pilot and veteran journalist who has spent many tale-weaving years on the Texas-Mexico border.

Not including fajitas, the best part of living on the border is the richness of the spoken word. Nowhere else is the happy blending of languages so inventive and endlessly fascinating.

Like most South Texans, I like to think of myself as trilingual – I speak pretty fair English, so-so Spanish and fluent Spanglish.
