David Rupkalvis is the publisher of the Del Rio News-Herald.

While I understand why the National Park Service made the decision to reopen Lake Amistad on the weekends, I disagree with the decision.

And my opinion has nothing to do with whether it’s safe or not to be at the lake. From everything I’ve read, if you practice social distancing, being at the lake is perfectly safe.
