Civil Rights icon Shelby Steele wrote, “The idea of Systemic Racism is a corruption. Blacks have never been less oppressed in America.” He explains this in his book “White Guilt: How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era.”

In his book “Shame” he ripped the claim that America is plagued by “systemic racism” stating “It’s a corruption because the truth of the matter is, Blacks have never been less oppressed than they are today. Opportunity is around every corner.”

Really disgusted by the article for one. Secondly, why write nonsense and the News Herald post this garage. Write about how the turn around time in testing for COVID sucks. Write about how Del Rio need more assistance with this pandemic. Don’t write on your thoughts on systemic oppression.

Especially when you write “I played with two black boys”. You don’t have a clue!

I actually laugh out loud when someone says they have Black friends or played with Black kids when they were young. That's supposed to prove they aren't racist.
