A female Morelet’s Seedeater

A female Morelet’s Seedeater – formerly called White-collared Seedeater – surveys her surroundings from a perch in the Rincon Del Diablo. These sparrow-like birds are common in Mexico and Central America, but only reach the United States in a few places along the Rio Grande in Texas and in far southern California.
