Christian Ortiz, 24, a resident of the 100 block of Shawnee Trail, was arrested on March 7, at 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Bean and Vitela streets, and charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair, a third degree felony, police records show.
Ortiz was arrested by Del Rio Police Department officers responding to a complaint for harassment, he was taken to the police station for booking and processing.
Driving without a valid license and steering his vehicle toward an oncoming police unit, forcing it out of the road, put a Del Rio man in jail, according to police records.

A federal judge in Austin sentenced Tuesday 55-year-old Akintola Akinmadeyemi to 120 months imprisonment for his role in an estimated $340 million intended-loss fraudulent “sweepstakes” scheme, federal prosecutors announced.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
Ariel Guadalupe Martinez, 21, a resident of the 200 block of Cerezo, was arrested on Feb. 26, at 11:32 p.m. at the 100 block of Joe Rice Drive, and charged with driving while intoxicated, police records state.
Martinez was arrested when Del Rio Police Department officers responded to 2228 Veterans Blvd. for a report of an assault that had already occurred.
Officials in Kerr, Real and Uvalde counties reported the arrest of Dustin Ray Whitlock, who is accused of shooting at a Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office deputy on Feb. 22 after a traffic stop and chase starting in Uvalde County and ending in Real County.
HIDALGO, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested a 42-year-old woman from Dallas, Texas and her 18-year-old son after detecting $2,920,000 worth of alleged methamphetamine and heroin in the SUV she was driving.

Maria Esther Rodriguez, 52, a resident of the 300 block of Hogan Drive, was arrested on Feb. 19, at 11:23 p.m. and charged with public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor, at the 100 block of Lions Avenue, police records show.
Rodriguez was arrested by Del Rio Police officers responding to an address on Lions Avenue, in reference to a woman who claimed she was being threatened on the phone. Officers made contact with the woman at Moore Park, who was crying hysterically and had a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from her person and breath, the arrest report states.
Two local teens were recently arrested in the city’s north side after they were spotted by police officers racing on Veterans Boulevard, a police report states.
