Army M. Sgt. Maliek Kearney, the husband of a Del Rio woman who was murdered in 2015, was found guilty Thursday of crossing state lines to commit domestic violence resulting in the death of his wife.
A jury in Baltimore found the soldier guilty of killing Del Rio raised and Comstock High School graduate Karlyn Ramirez, 24, who was stationed in Fort Meade and was living with her infant daughter in Severn, Maryland.
The Baltimore Sun reported that Kearney, 37, was found guilty of the federal charges and could be sentenced to life in federal prison.
On August 25, 2015, Anne Arundel County Police Officers found Ramirez shot dead in her home. Her five-month-old daughter was unharmed, sleeping by the mother’s body.
