Seferino R. Gomez III is seeking the Republican Party nomination for the position of Val Verde County Commissioner Pct. 4.
“My family taught me to respect my elders, treat others the way you want to be treated and leave a situation better than you found it. I believe the citizens of Precinct 4 have been poorly represented over the past eight years,” Gomez said.
Gomez graduated from Del Rio High School and attended Southwest Texas Junior College. He has worked in various fields, mostly concentrating in long-term health care.
“I am an assisted living administrator. I am chairman and president of Southern Pacific Credit Union, have served on the board of St. Vincent De Paul at St. Joseph Catholic Church and am a Rotary club member and chairman on the international board,” he said.
Gomez said, “In my current and previous experiences, I have had to work under extreme pressure, meeting strict deadlines and goals. This includes being on call 24/7, 365 days a year, finding solutions regardless of the situation, balancing budgets, overseeing daily operations and making sure that not a single employee had their hours cut,” he said.
“People should vote for me because the citizens of Val Verde County are ready for a change. The citizens of this county want more accountability of the decisions being made by the county commissioners. We need to manage the county’s expenses wisely. This includes limiting tax increases, managing budgets and making sure we finish projects within the allowed time to cut unnecessary spending. If elected I promise these issues will never happen again. I humbly ask for the opportunity to better serve you and the county of Val Verde. Thank you and may God bless you,” Gomez said.
