Val Verde fire more than doubles overnight

Dyess AFB air tankers, national guard helping fight blaze

A fire in central Val Verde County more than doubled overnight, according to the Texas Forest Service.

The fire is located between Farm-to-Market Road 1024, also known as Pandale Road, and Highway 163 and now encompasses more than 10,000 acres.
