Attorney: Allegations are ‘political infighting in a small town’

The Texas Attorney General’s Office was asked to conduct an investigation into an allegation of theft against Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 James Fernandez, Val Verde County Attorney Ana Markowski Smith said last week.

When asked to confirm the investigation, Attorney General spokesman Thomas Kelley said, “. . . our long-standing policy is that we do not acknowledge investigations of any kind.”
