A Del Rio man was recently arrested and charged with the theft of a firearm, a state jail felony, after a burglary reported in late February. Enrique Alcala, Jr., 19, a resident of Centro Avenue, was arrested on May 22 at 9:28 a.m.
A Del Rio Police Department incident report states on Feb. 24 officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Pulliam Street, in the city’s south side, where an individual reported a burglary of habitation.
The claimant, the report states, was missing a pistol from his house. The owner of the firearm stated the missing gun was a Kimber .45 ACP handgun.
Police records show officers also responded to the same location on March 9, at 2:09 a.m., where a man complained Alcala had gone onto the property, despite having a criminal trespass warning against him.
Alcala, who was arrested under both charges on May 22, is facing a state jail felony for the theft of firearm charge, while the criminal trespass charge is classified as a Class B misdemeanor by the Texas Penal Code.
