Consultant: Keeping airline service in Del Rio will be a tough challenge

There is only a slim chance Del Rio will be able to attract another airline after United Airlines ends service to the local airport in April, community leaders learned Wednesday.

Michael Boyd, president of the Boyd Group, a consulting service the city has hired to help bring another airline to fly into and out of Del Rio International Airport, made that observation during a presentation about the many challenges – and the few opportunities – the city faces in re-establishing airline service after April.
