A local councilman and Val Verde County employee was accused by a local radio station before the police, after refusing to return broadcasting equipment owned by the company when he was no longer an employee of KTDR, police records state.

Although admitting to keeping the equipment for a while, the city official denied any wrongdoing when contacted by the News-Herald, and said he refused to turn it in because his former employer owed him money.
