A local teen was arrested following a series of purchases with a credit card that had been reported stolen. Elijah Cardenas, 18, who has his place of residence listed at the 100 block of Shannon Circle, was arrested on May 30, by Del Rio Police Department officer Joshua Garcia.
An arrest report states Cardenas was charged with credit card or debit card abuse, a state jail felony.
An incident report released last week states officer Garcia was dispatched on May 25 at 10:59 a.m. to the 200 block of Elizabeth Drive, in response to the burglary of a vehicle.
A complainant, not identified in the report, told Garcia his Ford F-150 had been broken into, and a credit card had been taken from the center console.
Garcia, the report states, was told by the complainant he received a call from his bank and was informed of transactions being made from the card.
Garcia was informed of the location where the card was being used. Garcia gathered information and followed up on the last location where the card was used.
Cardenas was arrested on May 30, at 11:15 a.m. at his place of residence.
