A Del Rio man was arrested and charged with violating a protective order, and was arrested after he was found hiding under his ex-girlfriend’s bed, police records show.

Jose Luis Flores, 29, was arrested on Oct. 24, at 1 p.m., in an apartment located in the 900 block of West Cantu Road, according to police records.

On that date, Del Rio Police Department officers responded to the aforementioned address, after a woman complained at the police station her ex-boyfriend arrived to the residence, made his way inside and took her phone away, according to the arrest report.

The woman told police Flores had assaulted her a few months back and she had an emergency protection order, the report states.

Officers confirmed Flores had a protective order against him, with the woman being the protected person. The officers followed the woman home and found Flores who was hiding under the bed, the report states.

Flores was also found to be in violation of his parole and was arrested and transported to the police station for booking and processing.

Flores was charged with violation of bond or a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor, and with violation of probation or parole, a Class C misdemeanor.

Per Texas Penal Code, an individual adjudged guilty of a Class A misdemeanor shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $4,000; confinement in jail for a term not to exceed one year, or both.

A Class C misdemeanor is punishable by fine not to exceed $500.
