Del Rio High School’s Career and Technical Education students in the construction cluster recently traveled to San Antonio, Texas to participate in this year’s 2018 Skills USA District 11 competition.

Students competed in carpentry skills and job exhibits. Students who received first place will advance to State Skills USA competition in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 4-7, 2018. Receiving first place are Luis Treviño, Luis Esquivel, Thomas Colombo, Melecio Costilla, and Adilene Calderon.

Alejandra Contreras and Noel Robles received second place in job project exhibits. The construction classes are part of the growing CTE programs housed at the new Gerardo Maldonado CTE Center.
