Black Lives Matter protest in Del Rio

A helicopter flies over the Amistad Urban Oasis, located outside the Del Rio Civic Center, on June 2 before and during a Black Lives Matter protest. The aircraft was one of two helicopters hovering the area. U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed a Predator B unmanned aircraft system was flown the same day.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection Del Rio Sector clarified the usage of a drone during a local Black Lives Matter protest, after a news network correspondent stated drones were used to track protests across the nation.

On Thursday, ABC News Correspondent Giovani “Gio” Benitez, who appears on Good Morning America, stated predator drones and other aircraft were used over protestors in Minneapolis and other protests across the nation including Del Rio.
