• East Side Elementary will be having its last Migrant PAC meeting of the year today at 2 p.m. in the Parental Room A003. Our Guest Speaker will be Mrs. Gloria Paredes, Migrant Services Coordinator. All Migrant parents are encouraged to come and see all the programs that are being offered in the summer. Door Prizes and refreshments will be served. FRIDAY
• The United Civic Organization will have a meeting on May 16 at 7 p.m. at the U.C.O. Building.
• Mighty Ram Band Boosters will be selling tickets for the Annual Band Banquet to be held on May 16. Tickets can be purchased during the lunch hours at the High School Band Hall.
• Parents want to know how to get a first loan? Border Federal Credit Union and Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary would like to invite you to the last Parental Meeting which will take place at 9 a.m. in the school cafeteria on May 16. Hope you can attend!
• On May 16 the Del Rio Elks #837 on San Felipe Springs Road is having a Membership Drive from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On the menu is a bone — in Ribeye, Baked Potato, Pinto Beans, Salad and roll for only $12. Members are asked to bring a Friend.
• Eat lunch at the Firehouse this Friday between 12 and 2 p.m. We will be serving Domincan food (chicken stew, coconut peas, rice, and flan). Tickets are only $6.50. Purchase your in advance! Call us at 830-775-0888 for more information.
SATURDAY
• Calderon Elementary will have its PTO School Luau on May 17 from 12-noon to 5 p.m. Fun for the entire family.
• Blood Drive at Stonegate Apartments Saturday, May 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Main Office. All presenting donors will receive a "S-O-S" T-shirt, refreshments, mini physical. South Texas Blood & Tissue Center.
• DRHS Class of 88 will be having a “sack lunch” fundraiser on May 17. The sack lunch will consist of a brisket sandwich, chips and soda for $5. All alumni are asked to pick up tickets from Jaime Chapa at the downtown, DRNB. For further information contact Guy Aguirre at 734-4887 or Alanna Talamantez-Elizondo at 734-9963. The 20th reunion will be held on July 4 weekend.
• Free Guided Bird Walk, May 17, 8 a.m. Meet at Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Information Center on Hwy 90W across from Three Rivers RV Park. From there we will carpool to below Amistad Dam. Bring binoculars, bird books, water, and sturdy shoes. Call 775-7491 for more information.

•Friends of Del Rio Animals will be at Plaza Del Sol Mall on May 17 with kittens and puppies that are up for adoption. Junior members will be making "homemade pet toys". Come visit with us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• The Del Rio High School Class of 88 Sack Lunch (brisket sandwich, chips and drink) will be on May 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pick up BFCU /Bedell Office. Donation $5.
• Dr. Fermin Calderon Elementary PTO would like to invite all parents to our Luau Carnival on May 17 from 12 to 5 p.m. It will take place at our school, come and enjoy the fun activities.
